June 14 is Flag Day in the United States. It celebrates the anniversary of the Continental Congress’s Flag Resolution of 1777. Flag Day was officially established as a holiday in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson. Why do we celebrate Flag Day? To pay tribute to the symbol of this country and more importantly, what the US Flag symbolizes: Freedom from tyranny and the chance to make a better future for yourself and your family.
