The bluest of the blue counties in Texas loses Air America. The 78704 zip code seethes in frustration. Last week the station quietly switched to Spanish-language format, one that’s apparently much more profitable (a word Air America never seems to understand) in central Texas.

Austin Arbitron ratings for Spring 2007 show KOKE pulling a 0.9 rating. KLBJ AM, the top talk station (and yes, it’s conservative-minded) gets a 4.7. Supply and demand; Econ 101.
